Unforgettable Moments

Hey dolls,

How are you doing?

Yesterday, I've spoiled myself with a lovely Pandora charms bracelet and I'm completely in love with it. I've been lusting over this bracelet for months, always hesitating because of the price, but the quality is just amazing, I guess you get what you pay for ;p

For those who are not familiar with Pandora, I will explain the concept quickly. The idea is that you buy a plain bracelet, and then you add charms; charms that means something personal to you, which reminds you of an "unforgettable moment" (wedding, graduation, child birth, love...), there are more than 600 charms to choose from. These are the 2 charms I've got:

 My Princess Tiara Pendant Charm (Which means for me My Daughter)

Pink Sirius Charm (This one looks like a wedding ring, so I chose this to represent My Wedding)

Sterling Silver Bracelet to personalize (there is a large selection of silver, gold, fabric and leather bracelets, this one is the most popular)

And to avoid the charms from moving all around the bracelet, you add 2 clips, which are designed to fit on 2 specific positions on the Pandora bracelet. I've got these 2:

I'm happy that we have this brand in the UAE, I bought mine from Abu Dhabi Al Wahda Mall, there is also a shop in Dubai Mall... And the saleslady told me that there will be a "Dubai limited edition" charm coming soon, how exciting!!!

My mother's string of pearls necklace.

Flats or heels?
Both! Run around in flats and have heels hiding in the handbag! And vice versa! Comfort is key but glamour is a must!

Hi AlReem, tell us about your skincare routine?

My usual skincare routine is washing my face day and night with a suitable cleanser, then follow with serum and moisturizer. At mornings I add my sun block, and try to give myself home facials twice a week.

Loving Lancome at the moment.

Favorite mascara?

Maybelline The Falsies, Diorshow New Look, and Lancome Hypnose Star.

Tom Ford, Dior Extreme Addict and MAC.

Always set your foundation/tinted moisturizer or BB cream with powder in our hot weather! Use a primer to block your pores and insure a smoother application before applying your foundation.

Fashionista of the Week: Miss Hijabi

Hi Lovelies, I hope you had a great weekend! My guest today is a Hijabi Fashionista from Australia.

Hi Angela, Welcome to Dubai Fashionista :) Tell us a little bit about you?
My name is Angela (or just Ange as I'm known in the blogging world). I'm 28 and live in my homeland of Australia where I work as a teacher. I became the first Australian Hijab blogger in 2008 and currently share my style and love of abayas on www.MissHijabi.com

What's your favorite place to shop?
Definitely online. I hate the crowds and impulsiveness of real shopping and find online purchasing so much easier and fuss-free.

Favorite designer?
I'm usually attracted to anything bright, patterned and colorful so designers like Missoni or Dian Pelangi really take my focus.

Handbag designer?
There are too many, but at the moment I am really loving Mulberry's laid back classic style of bags.

Shoe designer?
Anyone that sells size! I'm a US 11 and with most designers only going to 10 I end up looking but not buying.

Your last buy?
The last thing I spent money on, was an ASOS haul. I finally got myself a pair of glittery silver heels, I've been wanting some for ages.

Favorite piece from your closet?
Probably my abaya from Dubai based brand Sweety. That was the first nice abaya I owned so it is kind of sentimental to me. That and the fact that it got me away from buying abayas that looked like they came from some backwater village souk. Before that I was relying on some very plain and ugly abayas available here in Australia at the time were very basic and old fashioned in terms of style. They still are.

Describe your style in 3 words?
Feminine. Accessorised. Ladylike.

What's your current wishlist?
Pretty much everything I see at Candella Boutique via their Instagram. They stock some very unique, fun pieces. There is a studded dark green bag there from Ivy Twist I am currently wanting.

Favorite fashion magazine?

I haven't really bought a magazine in quite some years but I used to love reading InStyle.

Favorite fashion blog?

I would have to say Latifa AlShamsi's blog. As far as I know, I am pretty sure we are the only two consistent abaya wearing bloggers out there, so I am drawn to hers because of the clothing we wear.

A trend you love?

I don't follow trend myself, but I am loving the 1920's style pieces that are popping everywhere because of The Great Gatsby movie. I've always loved historical inspired fashion.

A trend you hate?

Leggings. Leggings need to die.

Fashion faux-pas?

I've always hated it when girls go overboard; wearing head to toe designer names. I get turned off when women stop wearing clothes and instead start looking like a walking advertisement for big name brands. I think a lot of women today tend to buy certain items just because it is trendy, or to fit into a certain social status, or to show off, etc; instead of dressing for themselves and wearing things purely because they actually like them, no matter where the piece came from or how much they cost. What you wear should be more about your own personal style; not a race to keep up with or outdo each other.
Another one is that stupid colored contacts craze. For the most part they look ridiculously unnatural.

Favorite destination/dream destination for shopping?

Definitely Dubai, especially since it is the fashion capital in regards to abayas.

Celebs style inspiration?
Sarah Jessica Parker. She always looks so feminine and modest, particularly on the red carpet.

Must-haves every woman should have in her closet?
Black heels. They go with everything.

Favorite piece of jewelry you like to wear?
Rings in general. I seem to collect them and feel somewhat naked or not completely dressed if I leave the house without at least one on.

Flats or heels?
I'd love to say heels but now that I am a mother of two I seem to live in flats. Heels aren't just practical on a daily basis at this stage in my life.

The 100 AED Makeup Challenge Tag

Hello Lovelies, today's post is all about budgeting!!! I was inspired by the 20$ Makeup Challenge Tag as seen on Youtube... Rules are simple you have to create a full face makeup look and all your products must equal 100 AED (approximately 20 EUR). So here are the beauty products I bought:

Flormar Supershine Lipstick in #503 (25.00 AED)

This is not the first time I'm buying Flormar lipstick, I love their formula, really moisturizing, it doesn't last long, need to reapply it during the day, but they have really nice colors, and I'm loving this pretty pink, plus it is very affordable.

Essence Kajal Pencil in Black #01 (9.00 AED)

This eye pencil is really high pigmented and long lasting, it makes me want to try their new colorful spring range.

Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Boost Mascara (17.00 AED)

I'm not super excited about this mascara, I like long dramatic eyelashes (the YSL Volume Effete Faux Cils gives) and this one is too "natural" looking.

Essence Circus Circus Long Lasting Eyeshadow in Raise The Curtain For... #02 (17.00 AED -50%)

This Eyeshadow is gorgeous!!! The color is just so rich, I love the creamy and smooth formula. It had no creasing at all (and that was with no eye primer) and stays all day long. I love it, and how hot is the packaging?!!

Essence Silky Touch Blush in Babydoll #20 (20.00 AED)

My favorite product from this haul. I'm so impressed by the quality of this blush!!! The color pigmentation is amazing, it blends well and it stays all day long. The packaging is cute. There is 4 colors available, I'm so going to buy the 3 others!!!

Essence Soft & Natural Make-up Long-Lasting in Light Caramel #04 (24.00 AED)

Not the best foundation ever, but for the price it's quite good. It didn't cover my redness but gives a fresh looking complexion.
